The primary focus of the Get Set Go program is to produce independent learners and confident students. In order for this to be an effective learning experience for each student, we provide each of our students with a weekly, individualized package that includes various materials that have been carefully selected to meet your child learning needs. Each assigned package will focus on targeting a specific skill(s), which may include the following key areas:

Building Vocabulary
Teachers work collaboratively to locate and prepare material based on the assessment report. During lessons, teachers will observe students' academic performance and provide additional support wherever necessary. It is important to ensure that homework assignments are completed for the Language Power program in order to allow for consistent progress.
The Math program is designed to help students develop the key and necessary skills that would allow them to work efficiently, accurately and independently. The Math-a-Magic program is a curriculum based program and includes all the strands of mathematics as outlined in the Ontario Curriculum document. This program is administered to students using a key tool that will not only stimulate their thinking but also enforce independent learning skills; this key tool is the Learna worksheet package. The Learna worksheet package will be provided to each student in which they will be required to complete both, in-class work as well as their homework assignments. Each package given to students will focus on only one strand of mathematics to ensure that the student is thoroughly mastering the skills and concepts specific to that strand. Upon the completion of a Learna Worksheet package, the student will be provided with another package outlining the next curriculum strand in mathematics. Although the Learna Curriculum coincides with the Ontario curriculum, the strands in mathematics will be given to each student at Learna in the following order:
Number Sense and Numeration
Patterning and Algebra
Data Management
Measurement
Geometry and Spatial Sense
The program is designed to enhance students' independent working skills, it is important to note that each child is working at their own, individual pace.
